NEW at INKED: Opening Ceremony’s Spring/Summer Collection 2013
Greetings from the Sunshine State! The Florida-inspired Spring/Summer 2013 Opening Ceremony collection, shot by Charlie Engman, packs a punch of bright looks that conjure up Key West, poolside piñas, and plenty of vitamin D.
Floridian landscapes and architecture––think Postmodern interiors, “gingerbread” molding, and Victorian awnings––play out in the collection in the form of scalloped cut-outs, pointelle, and eyeletting.
Cupcake pastels dominate the daytime looks on easy gingham dresses, lounge chair get-ups for soaking up those rays, and on chunky soles; while the exuberant gem- embellished pieces and the glimmering jewel tones on the taffeta party looks fluidly take the collection into the balmy subtropical night.
We can’t wait for warm weather to wear the dresses and short skirts with bare legs! Meanwhile, style them with warm tights and jackets for a cool transitional look.
