Swedish fashion powerhouse Acne Studios unveiled its FW16 women’s collection as part of Paris Fashion Week early this year. The brand’s Creative Director Jonny Johansson cited garage-punk legends The Cramps as an influence, and while Acne’s aesthetic was far removed from that of the band’s founders – the wonderfully-named Lux Interior and Poison Ivy – there was certainly a provocatively ’80s streak running through the collection.
XXL-sized pants, PVC fabrication and glittering fabrics all harked back to the decade of excess, in a ballsy, full-throttle fashion.
As I have chosen our blog outfit, I took care that you can see that even though it is a runway look at the pics, it is pretty wearable during daytime. The look is all about, wide but high waist fitted pleated pants, reversible knits and maxi coats, which can be easily tightened togehter around your waist to create a different look. Paired up with Acne´s icon cap, Common Projects sneakers and a tote from Want les Essentiels, we love this fashion show look, ready to be worn on the streets of our daily life.
